Arden Prentice

On June 20, 2024, Arden Prentice left this Earth to join his parents and siblings on his next journey. Arden began his life on March 4, 1941, in Rodman, Iowa, born to Harry and Iona Prentice. Growing up in Rodman, a small town with strong family bonds, Arden learned the importance of personal relationships and the loyalty of friends and family.

In 1964, Arden met his wife, Susan (Sweeney). They were married on May 15, 1965, and were soon blessed with three children: Warren, Angela, and Matt. The family lived in Emmetsburg, Iowa, during the early part of their marriage. Following in the footsteps of his father and brothers, Arden joined the family trucking business, working in road construction across the state of Iowa.

In 1983, Arden and his family moved to Loveland, Colorado, and then in 1987, they moved to Fort Collins where he began working with Allied Carriers in the car transportation industry until his retirement. In his retirement, Arden found joy in working in the yard and, most of all, visiting with neighbors. He never met a stranger and was affectionately known as the Ambassador of Iowa.

Arden was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Dolores (Sis) and Dorothy, and his brothers Glenn (Buzz), Dean, Lee, and Warren. He is survived by his beloved wife Susan; his children Warren (Sheryl) Prentice, Angela (Jim) Mooney, and Matt (Judi) Prentice; his five grandchildren: Elise (Taggert) George, Rachel Mooney, Dylan Mooney, Arden Prentice, and John Prentice; his great-grandson Augustus George; his brother Vern Prentice; his sisters Mary Prentice, Carol Hoch, Jean Thilges, and Christa Christensen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Arden's life was a testament to the values he cherished: love of family and a welcoming spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who know him, but his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Timberline Church at 10 A.M. on Saturday, August 17. Reception to follow. Online obituary may be viewed at viegutfuneralhome.com.
